I saw my friend Jessica's preliminary version of the film's titles tonight. I had suggested to her a font that was used in the Norton Star Atlas, for no other reason than that it has pleasant associations for me--we tinkered a bit with her version, and I was happy with the results. We'll be able to put Jessica's work on a disk and give it directly to the title house.
Bill negotiated a good deal for me today with the sound mixer at Harvestworks, a company he works for. Even so, mixing will be one of the most time-consuming and expensive aspects of the process. If we get into a festival, we may have to do the mixing as quickly as possible, at the same time as everything else; if we don't, we probably won't mix until after the first print is made, a month or two down the line.
