So I had a rather odd dream last night. Fortunately, I remember it, or at least the part just before I woke up.

I was in a Hotel. It had WiFi, and it even worked, which is something. The power was a bit unreliable though, the CFL lights in the ceiling were flickering. So I tapped one, thinking it was just a light and the whole floor’s power went out.

See, by doing that, I caused the polarity of the building to go backwards. All the switches that were “on” were now off (but still said “on”), and I had to flip the switch to get power again. It took me a while to figure this out, but once I did, I confirmed the UPS for my laptop was still working ok (it sort of was, but had a red warning light because the power was backwards).

Aside from the fact that electrical circuits don’t work like that, I find it rather odd that my dreaming self felt the need to take a UPS to a hotel. Even dreaming self thought the situation to be just weird.
