Elliott Gamson, the negative cutter, is back from his vacation and assures me that the higher price that his assistant quoted me was just a mistake, and that everything is fine between us. Unfortunately, his office has received more projects that need to be finished in time for Cannes, and they want to push my film back even further on the schedule. I feel unhappy about this treatment, but given my deadline-free situation I don't feel comfortable making more than a small fuss. In retrospect, it was probably a mistake to go with a prestigious negative cutter with a lot of big clients--I'm not high enough on his priority list.
Called the title house and told them to photograph the titles, which they've been sitting on for a while, waiting for me to come up with additional credits. I should be able to see the results by Friday.
