Bill Krohn, one of my L.A. film buff friends who liked the movie when he saw it in January, seems to be putting some effort into promoting it: he's talked it up to the head of the Locarno Film Festival, wants to write about it for the French journal TRAFIC, and plans to suggest it to a fellow with whom he is forming a small distribution company. He told me that my film and Albert Brooks' MOTHER were the two American movies that had most impressed him recently. My first comparison to a real movie! Having Bill behind the film is a real ego boost--I've gotten so used to faint praise.
