Happy New Year! Get out your show vests and booties and suit up for our winter training ride series. Seriously, this winter’s offerings are designed specifically to dovetail our cold weather ride series into our early spring training series. So you can get the most riding fun out of winter, stay in shape and swing right into the spring.

Ride Cancellation due to weather

Remember that all club rides have a default weather cancellation policy - unless otherwise specified by the ride leader. Temperature at the start of a ride below 32(F) cancels. This does not apply to any rides led by our hearty club President, Ed DeFreitas, who will ride in just about any non-wet conditions, and he’s been known to show up even then!

Please come dressed warmly and in layers. Remember to bring some water (or liquid) as well as a lock. It’s a good idea to have a pump, spare tube, and small tools with you.

The Montauk Training Ride Series is coming!

At the end of the ride listings in this issue you will see that we have the start of the training series. Before it gets warm outside we have to warm up our legs. If you want to be prepared for the century ride in May the best way is with our progressive series, with one or two rides held each weekend. Start as early as you can and get a jump ahead so you can be ready for those longer rides we offer in April and early May.

Training Ride Planning Meeting

There will be a planning meeting to discuss the Montauk Training Rides and other daytrips. This will be in the club office on Tuesday, January 11th, at 6:30pm. All are welcome.
