April 28-29, Bike Trip, Shelter Island, Shelter Island NY
The plan is to gather at Greenport early Saturday morning (get there by car or jitney). Then we'll bike around Shelter Island, which is really beautiful with untravelled country roads. The island has sea vistas and gently rolling hills, but it's mostly fairly flat, and there's a large, wild nature preserve that we could explore on foot (bikes are not allowed in the preserve). For those up for more biking, the South Fork of Long Island that includes the Hamptons and Montauk is a short ferry ride away. For those staying overnight, we'll stay at a motel on the beach near Greenport.

Saturday, May 12, Day Hike, Brooklyn Boardwalk, Brooklyn NY
Stroll 3-5 miles along the boardwalk that spans Brighton, Coney Island and Sea Gate. We'll pass Little Russia, the Aquarium, the Parachute Jump, and the Atlantic Ocean. At the end we'll lunch at a Russian restaurant (for under $10 per person), or eat at Nathan's. You'll have several opportunities to rest, stop or get transportation home. Accessible by public transportation. If you use the "Contact by E-mail" button, then include your phone number so Carol can call you. NO CALLS BEFORE SATURDAY MAY 5.

May 25-28, Camping Trip, Worthington State Forest, Columbia NJ
We'll be camping at a group site, right on the Delaware River. Put on your swimsuit, and boat or fish from the boat launch near the campsite. Hikers can climb up the Appalachian Trail to Sunfish Pond, an unspoiled glacial lake, or visit the Mohican Outdoor Center for nearby swimming or boating. On Saturday or Sunday morning, Ken may lead an early morning hike. Chemical toilets by the site, flush toilets and showers in another part of the park. Quiet hours are 10 P.M. to 6 A.M. NO CALLS BEFORE FRIDAY MAY 18.
